Directed by Gordon Chan
Synopsis
Marital ups and downs and extramarital flings provide the background to this uproarious tale of life in an advertising agency. Yuppie ad-man Leung Foon separates from his similarly career-focused wife Ann, tries to get back together with his former girlfriend, and flirts with his woman boss, before questioning whether he was better off where he started.

In the opening narration Laurence Cheng's character proclaims " My wife would be the best woman of the world provided other women all drop dead."
What's interesting is that even though the movie can be quite misogynistic it still portrays Carol Cheng and Cherie Chung as the smartest, most competent characters in the movie. I appreciate that boneheaded nuance.
It's a decent HK romcom but loses a lot of energy in the second half. Only worth watching if you're a completionist.

Nothing groundbreaking, exactly how I imagined it to be. Carol Cheng is slightly wasted, Cherie Chung is very wasted (but good God her hair), every male character that isn't Lawrence Cheng is pretty milquetoast but Lawrence Cheng is actually pretty charming and funny in his own way.
So, pretty much your average late 80s HK yuppie romcom. And my God is this a yuppie romcom, if the title didn't already make that clear. Cherie Chung is a stockbroker (who's name is literally Ann Hui (??????)) who is never seen without shoulderpads. Lawrence Cheng is an ad man who is never seen not wearing a sweater. Not a single character drives a car that isn't a Saab (I guess there's taxis…

Watch this movie in which Sibelle Hu kicks exactly zero people. That is exactly one less than there are prop related visual gags in the movie. You can't have just one of those. The only way that it would make sense to only have one is if Manfred Wong one day just showed up on set with an oversized matchstick and nobody had the heart to tell him no.
