Synopsis
14-year-old Jo Ann Foley lives in squalor in a rural Southern community during World War II. Abused by her bootlegging grandfather Hank, Jo Ann has, like her mother Marie, been forced into a life of prostitution. Periodically escaping her miserable existence, Jo Ann finds comfort, security, and genuine love with a poor but proud African American couple: Honey and Too Tall.

I just knew that I was gonna love this film 🎞 it was such a wonderful & heartbreaking story. You’ll laugh and cry and then probably laugh and cry together! I definitely cried nearly the entire time but this was honestly so good for a late 1999s tv film. Movies like this really just warms the heart ♥️ Della Reese never disappoints me in anything that I’ve seen her in !! I just absolutely love her so much 🥲 I probably screamed at the tv a few good times that’s how stressed some situations gotten. It’s incredibly amazing how 2 beautiful people could care & love a tiny baby regardless of her colour or where she came from and bring her up…

Honey, can you please make me an apron too? 🩷🩷
Honestly, Honey was the best Mom that Jo Ann could have asked for. This film literally had me in tears so many times throughout it. It's heart warming story of how an unwanted child finds a family. 🩷
